College degree or Passion?

Last year (2016), I was eagerly searching for a home based or online job that would generate an extra income for me after I quit my job as a Respiratory Therapist. Yes, I'm an RT by profession, in a 250-bed capacity hospital. The reason why I quit my job? Sadly, it's as simple as "I am not as happy and as inspired anymore." :(

But dear, please don't get me wrong here, it's not that I don't feel the fulfillment of helping others, or the challenge of helping the patient make their lungs breathe, or the adrenaline rush during code blues, it's just that I think there's another world for me where I can shine more brightly. Or should I say, I will shine bright like a diamond! ;)

Hospital work is an exhausting yet rewarding job and, it's one of the most time consuming and mind blowing work that I know of. Just imagine yourself rushing non-stop all over the place for 8 long hours or so (longer hours of duty is always always possible, 12-16 hours shift most of the time), extracting blood from critically ill patients at wards and intensive care units, rushing in with  ventilators/breathing machines for emergency cases, and setting up pretty much everything to help with the team. When it comes to dealing with my patients, most of the time, I get affected by their situations and their pains. I always have a heart for them. There are times when I can't help myself but to cry or at least get teary-eyed whenever I see someone passed or passing away while the families are weeping. And it always leaves a mark on me the whole day. I know this is not how I supposed to act professionally but, hey I'm human! Being an RT gave me tons of privileges to witness how precious every single life is. But... Theres is also this tiny voice within me that tells me there's more to life.

Passion.

It was my 2015!

(Repost-Original words from Paulo Coelho's facebook page)

CLOSING 2015
One always has to know when a stage comes to an end. If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through.
Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters – whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.

Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship come to an end? Did you leave your parents’ house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long-lasting friendship ended all of a sudden?
You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened.

How I have Loved You

It will always be like a dream to me. Not in the sense that you were perfect—you barely were. It was a dream because it all happened so fast that I kept on doubting if it even happened.

I will love you like I always did—in between spaces, under hushed tones, hidden behind promises of friendship and seemingly innocent words. I will love you like I did in our conversations—virtual yet completely memorable. For in those conversations, I bared my soul to you more than I did in any other heart-to-heart talk.

I will love you like December with its days full of anticipation intricately laced with the probability of disappointment. I will love you like summer. I will treat you as a break, an escape I am allowed to indulge in but will inevitablyhave to let go of.

You would always be a dream. You'd be the one I wanted to have but I thought I'd never deserve. You'd always be a "what if," a curious chance I never took.

And in the end, I will love you like hot chocolate on rainy days. You'd be sweet, nice, and warm, but never enough. While the rest of the world wants your company, I'd always be complaining about you being too sweet, too nice, and too warm—or just being too plain for me. I will always long for the bitterness, the buzz that you could never give. It will take me a while to finally find something that will make me stay but I will always love you.

I will always love you despite the failure in timing and every other aspect. I will love you. And when I see you, I will smile because I do love you, in the way that I can but not in the way you wanted me to. We could have been, but I'm even more thankful that we weren't. Because otherwise, I won't love you.

For what it's Worth

But of course, nothing is ever too late. We always have the means and the ways to do things, it's just a matter of strong will and courage to start and the perseverance to continue doing it as long as we want to. Nothing in this world comes for free and easy.

Here's my second attempt in quotes. Enjoy the image! If you wish to repost or use this image in any other site, just tag or put my link on the description.

How does LDR work?

Image via Etsy

Well, I honestly don't believe in Long Distance Relationships. I've seen so many of them with friends and from other people I just know and some stories shared by my friends, and they didn't really work out. Maybe for quite some time or in the beginning, but, they don't last.

I've been in love as soon as I reached my 17th year of existence. But after several years we had to part ways because we just grew apart. But after a couple. of years in the process of moving on, I wasn't really looking for love after all. Then came love looking for me. For me, it was the most spontaneous part of my life. It was the most unexpected moment and the most unexpected person. It was like heaven opened its gate for me and I hear all the angels singing and ringing the bells. It was like a magical kind of love feeling. But before it took us a year, I  decided. to end it so as to prepare myself months before he leaves. We were still like best friends even when we're not together anymore. But one day that time came and he had to leave. I know how it feels to miss somebody when talking on the phone and chatting isn't just enough, of course we all need the physical presence of the person we love. We want to be with them, we want to go places with them, want to experience adventures and share memories with them. But if the distance won't permit us, it's heartbreaking, right?

For the past six months I've seen someone so dear to me going through the same position. It's like two hearts living at  two opposite sides of the earth and you don't really have a choice but to adjust your time with pretty much everything you do, like eating and sleeping. It was an awful feeling, I know it myself. It's either one of you gives up or one would have another relationship with someone else. For me, it's just a matter of FAITH. Faith in your partner, faith in God, and faith in yourself. Don't mind tomorrow, it will always take care of itself, just live in the present. Find happiness in every thing be it small or big. Once love finds its way to us, all we have to do is just enjoy and endure whatever comes with it. Do and give our best, always.

And of course... Have a little faith. :)

My point is...

THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE

My sisters used to say "You Only Live Once" when making excuses for partying so hard and going out one-to-sawa. And at some point I believe in them, even if it may sound so nonsense [hahah! sorry my sissies!]. And somehow, for the record, YOLOing made me realize how every second, minutes, hours, and days of our lives are so important.

You can do anything you want, you can just be a bad person or a good one. You have the choice to go to school and finish it, or just stop and start making for a living. We all have different lives, different paths. Different journeys, and stories. Each of which was custom made by God. Our happiness doesn't depend on any thing or to anyone.

What we do makes us happy. What we love doing will make us happy. And we don't have to force ourselves and waste time trying to please others.
It's true, the best things in life are free. I will survive life just as long as I have my little family (because they're my life), my parents, my sisters, and friends. and of course, faith must be in the center of it all. There's nothing I can ask for from God. For he already filled my life with the joys I can't miss out.

Love Dare

Hey there! I just thought I needed to write my own version of THE LOVE DARE.
For those who doesn't have an idea what it is, well, it's just like a journal or more like a guide to love. It is described as "40 Days Love Journey." I came to knew this Love Dare thing through my ex boyfriend slash almost husband to be. (hihi :p)Way back his college, he had christian living subject and their professor let them watched this movie. And he also wanted me to watch it, so I did. Anyway, enough of my blah blah. :))

Here comes my first home made version of THE LOVE DARE... :)

Day 1 : Love is Patient

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
—Ephesians 4:2 NIV

TODAY’S DARE
The first part of this dare is fairly simple. Although love is communicated in a number of ways, our words often reflect the condition of our heart. For the next day, resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your spouse at all. If the temptation arises, choose not to say anything. It’s better to hold your tongue than to say something you’ll regret.

I like you better than everything under the Sky!

My Daily Life; 04.14.2013

"We can never be sure about life. It will always be win or lose, ups and downs, and most of all, at times, it is awfully unfair. Speaking of "unfair," I somehow unfailingly belong to this category. I don't know why and how but, God has been testing me for the past years and he had given troubles, problems, heartaches, misfortunes, you name it I have it! Sometimes, just the thought of it kills me from the inside. and it was so so sooo painful. But, I don't have a choice except to be strong and don't give-up".

My favorite Quote!

This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And babe, I hate to say it, most of them-actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give-up because if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about.
-- Marilyn Monroe

Love your Singleness

Yes, I wrote this because I am single. :) Honestly, I was hesitant on writing this post about love, but since i'm here already typing these letters, I guess it's time to let it all come out.
Few months from now it's already been a year since I had my first (first love, first boyfriend, ever) long term relationship. And am still not sure if that's the last also. Haha! Kidding aside, I was so madly and deeply in love at that time and I'm still "in the process" of you-know-what. :)

Of course everyone would say that a break-up really sucks, big time! And nobody would want to be in the position. All those emotions, bitterness, drama, lonely and sleepless nights, pain, and everything that comes with it, are only a part of the bigger picture. Every single person that goes through it, suffers. Pero it will all pass. For someone who already had their hearts broken, they probably know the drill.

What drill ba kamo?

About life,  goals, and achievements. The very one thing na kailangang kailangan ko dahil sa mga pinagdadaanan ko.

May short autobiography yun speaker for the sake or sharing.
It doesn't happen over night so be patient and persevere to achieve your dreams. At higit sa lahat, for the second time around, ikaw ang talo!

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

When my sister is watching the movie I never imagined that the story was this good until I finally read the book. And I was so moved, awed, and amazed by how it has touched my personal life. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions. I can totally relate to the story and actually taught me so many things about life.

It was just beautifully written.

So, here are some of my fav qoutes/lives from the book. I especially highlighted and wrote it on my 2012 journal. Simply because it has made a huge impact on me. And I LEARNED. :)

"But scenery without solace is meaningless."

"This is the greatest gift God can give you: to understand what happened i nyour life. To have it explained. It is the peace you have been searching for."

"It might seem strange to begin/start a stor with an ending. But all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time"

"The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone."

This Book Saved my Life

Lately, I've been interested in books. Okay, I know it's sooo not me, I'm not a fan of any book and I don't like to read a lot (except for fashion magazines). Since super expensive ng books sa book stores, I go for the second hand books. I went to Book Sale, and was browsing for a GOOD book to read. I saw the book Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus and got excited to get it. BUT! Some hand took it right before my hand lands onto the book. Fail! Ang tagal kong naghanap tapos when I finally saw IT may mauuna pa sa kin makakuha. Anyway, I still searched for a good title. I started to look again.

I got interested at this book. For someone who's not a bookworm and just wants to try reading. I think the title is so appealing for the readers. In the middle of my nowhere-abouts, at this point were I am somehow "lost," my instinct told me buy the book, go home, and start reading it.

I was a little bored and confused at the beginning of the story. But as the story goes I already had an idea of how this story will flow. I finished this book in about 48 hours I think. (Is that too slow? Heheh).

What Matters to ME

It doesn't interest me of what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing. It doesn't interest me of how old you are. I want to know if you'll risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive. I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or yours, without giving up but instead, standing strong for and with each other. I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or yours; if you can see beauty even when it's not pretty everyday.

I want to know if you can live with failure, mine and yours; and still stand at the edge of the lake and shout, "I'll never leave your side no matter what."

It doesn't interest me where you live or how much money you have; I want to know if you can get up after a night of despair, weary and bruised and still get up in the morning and do what it needs to be done just to feed our children.

It doesn't interest me of your faults and failures. I want to know if you can confess and repent and promise not to do it again.
